MIPCOM 2021

MIPCOM 2021

MIPCOM 2021, held from October 15-18, 2021 in Cannes-France, is one of the most important events in the global audiovisual industry. If you are interested in the dubbing, localization, market or business of this industry, MIPCOM is the place to go to. This is also a great opportunity for companies like Walt Disney, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, HBO & other V.O.D. providers to visit and connect to make new partnerships with the local companies around the world.

According to www.statista.com:

  • Revenue in the Video-on-Demand segment is projected to reach US$85,759m in 2021.
  • Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2021-2025) of 10.43%, resulting in a projected market volume of US$127,512m by 2025.
  • In the Video-on-Demand segment, the number of users is expected to amount to 2,226.1m users by 2025.
  • User penetration will be 23.9% in 2021 and is expected to hit 28.5% by 2025.

These numbers speak loudly about a dynamic industry expanding and adapting as we speak.

This year’s event was considerably smaller due to COVID-19, but it was still great to meet people and make new connections. Even if the big players from the VOD industry weren’t present, we were still able to get some good talk and participate in a couple of networking events. Event organizers have taken precautions of CoVID-19. They have set up medical stations and are taking steps to increase awareness among participants.

During the show, we were thrilled to participate at the International Mentoring and Networking Event for Women in Tv, Film & Digital MediaThis event is at it’s 3rd edition since 2019 when it first started at MIPCOM. This event gave us the opportunity to network and receive great mentorate for the next step of our projects.

The talks were led by Vanessa Shapiro, CEO of NICELY ENTERTAINMENT. She was joined by Amanda Groom-Managing Director of THE BRIDGE, Bouchra Rejani-Founder & CEO of WEMAKE, Helene Aurø-Sales and Marketing Director of REINVENT INTERNATIONAL SALES, Marina Williams-Co founding partner at ASACHA MEDIA GROUP, Marina Narishkin-CEO of MILLIMAGES, Christina Fon – V.P./Executive Producer for REZOLUTION PICTURES INTERNATIONAL, Sarah Hemar-Deputy Managing Director of UniFrance in charge of Audiovisual and Digital at UNIFRANCE, Sarah Baynes-CEO of THE CREATIVE GARDEN and Camille Bidermann-Executive Director at THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCE.

Looking forward for the next year event. Fingers crossed for relaxed participation conditions and a more fruitful event.

Till then!
